The worse case scenario is coming to fruition for the Miami Heat. With LeBron James already on the sidelines with a sore ankle, Chris Bosh hurt his ankle in a loose ball scrum Saturday night in a loss to the Chicago Bulls.
With a thin froncourt and limited on depth Dwayne Wade will have to go at it alone until further notice. The team's depth will be tested and luckily it'll only be for a limited time. Luckily x-rays wee negative.
Meanwhile, Bosh wasn't too pleased with Bulls big man Omer Asik. Asik made a late dive for the loose ball. Ok, it was late but you can't question his hustle. That's part of the game and what you get paid for. Bosh has his money, Asik might not have a contract next year.
"C'mon, that is how guys get hurt, that is how serious injuries happen. You've got to watch people's legs. I know guys want to hustle and everything but we all want to play and provide for our families and have a job.We all want to be healthy and that is very important If it is by somebody's leg, don't dive for the ball, it's too close."
That's what Bosh had had to say about it. If you would've dove on the floor you wouldnt've had that leg exposed. I guess you couldn't get a floor burn and not risk yourself to possible injury. Next time dive and preserve your health.

Dorsett Says He Would Go For 2,000 In Today's NFL
Tony Dorsett has the same feelings Michael Jordan has about today's athlete. think back to when Jordan said he would go for 100 in a game in today's NBA. Dorsett has the same feelings about defensive players in today's NFL. He's not impressed with the tackling going on in today's game. He also isn't thrilled about the prospect of an 18 game schedule.
Dorsett feels if he played today he would've challenged Emmitt Smith for the all time rushing record. He feels he would've been of of the best in today's game.
“I’d probably a perennial 2,000-yard rusher the way players tackle now. “Probably one of the best if not THE best,” Dorsett said. “The art of tackling is gone in the National Football League. I was watching one of these playoff game a few years ago – I think it was Carolina – and they were in the red zone, about the five-yard line. And this back, he jumps off-tackle in the guard-tackle gap, and he got hit by three linebackers. He bounced off all three of these linebackers and I said, ‘You know, if I was up in New York with Lawrence Taylor, Harry Carson and Carl Banks, there is no way on God’s earth I could have shaken all three of those guys. Because they’re going to hit you and they’re going to WRAP and drive your butt to the ground. They don’t that anymore."
If he played in the era with Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith maybe he wouldbe one of the best. Right now he would IF he wasn't stuck in a timeshare backfield like he was early in his career. Dorsett's game was made on making you miss and running by defenders. There's nothing wrong with that.
“If you’re going out there looking for that contact, you’re going to get a lot of it,” he said. “It’s going to take its toll on you in a very short time-span and long after.”
With his speed he might've been one of the best if he played today. Here's Dorsett's thought's on an 18 game schedule.
“I think (another two games) is asking an awful lot – especially if you have only five years post-football health insurance. Most of these degenerative injuries take longer than five years before you really start breaking down physically.”
I agree. Not much is done for the players after their done playing the game. I know they make a lot of money. But some of them end up broke, homeless, and can barely walk. I say guaranteed contracts if they go to 18 games.

Magic Gets Snoop Dogg For His Daughter's Party
I don't know what kind of guy Magic Johnson is personally but he seems to be a good father. He got Snoop Dogg to perform at his daughter's sweet 16 birthday party.
I never knew Magic to be a fan of Snoop's but I'm sure they've met before. Snoop on the other hand seems to transcend any and every audience no matte what. The guy has done a lot of dirt in his lifetime but everyone likes him. I like Snoop myself because I really don't care what he does in his spare time, but you name me someone that gets popped for marijuana like he has a number of times and everyone seemingly still likes him.

The NFL Police Are At It Again
What's wrong with some good, clean, old fashioned hate in the NFL? Like the old Raiders-Steelers rivalry. The Buddy Ryan 'bounty bowl'. The hard hitting games from years past. That was some good football. Now Roger Goodell and his lieutenants want to take more out of the game. Players are being warned that there will be no more trash talking. To be more specific the threatning of other players.
“Ray Anderson reminded players that comments of a physically threatening nature are always taken into account in evaluating discipline for any illegal physical contact on the field,” league spokesman Greg Aiello said Saturday.
Now I don't mind the pre-game banter between players of opposing teams. That's part of the game. It's been going on for years. There have always been threats made on other players. It's just nowdays those threats are made more public than in years past. With the various media and internet outlets, something that is said among teammates gets leaked out in the news.
There has been a lot going on this week, but consider the teams. More specifically the AFC games. Pittsburgh/Baltimore, New York/New England. Two of the fiercest rivalries going today. You had Bart Scott practically putting a hit out on the Patriots' Wes Welker. There was Antonio Cromartie loud talking om Brady. Terrell Suggs with the 'middle finger salute' shirt. The Jets are still feeling sour about the 45-3 beatdown in Foxboro. The Jets' Braylon Edwards felt the Patriots ran up the score. The Steelers and Ravens is a flat out blood feud. Nothing more needs to be said about those two. They simply don't like each other. Respect yes, love no.
"You shouldn’t like who you are going up against right now,” Rex Ryan said. “This is the playoffs. I can tell you our whole team respects Brady and the Patriots. But hey, we don’t like any of them right now. You shouldn’t. (Former Jets running back) Danny Woodhead is a great kid, but I can’t stand Danny Woodhead right now.
“I think that’s just part of it, and trust me, the feeling is mutual.”
Let these players play. Everyone knows it's a hard hitting, violent sport. There's bound to be some extra chatter before, during, and after. Let's leave it be and let the men be men.

Quick Playoff Predictions
The Divisional round of the playoffs has some good matchups this weekend. Here's my personal predictions on this weekend's action.
Baltimore vs. Pittsburgh- I have to take the Steelers in this one solely because of home field. Pittsburgh always seems to pull one big play out of their backside than the Ravens can. Steelers 17-13.
Green Bay vs. Atlanta- I'm having flashbacks to a playoff game from 1980 that also involved the Falcons. When they played Dallas at home and lost a 30-27 thriller in which they led most of the game. I see the same thing happening today with the Falcons losing a heartbreaker to the Packers. Packers 31-27.
New York vs. New England- The Jets need to ramp up their offensive game if their going to beat New England. The Jets do a lot of tough talking but right now their hurting and the Patriots seem primed to take advantage. For some odd reason I feel a blowout coming on. The Jets defense can only take them so far.
Patriots 30-13.
Seattle vs. Chicago- The Seahawks have somewhat become America's darling in the past few weeks. This could be a blowout or a tough defensive battle. However I do see the Bears coming out on top since they are at home and there is sure to be bad weather. Bears 20-10.

Tarver Throws Out A Challenge To Haye
Apparently the Klitschko brothers aren't the only ones that want a piece of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. That is a fight that could possibly replace the mandatory defense against Russian heavyweight Ruslan Chagaev.
Tarver who has one fight in the heavyweight division, a win over Nagy Aguilera says he's looking to "chop down a giant". Mighty bold words for a bulked up light heavyweight. Tarver would want the fight to be in the U.S., but it seems that Haye is reluctant to fight outside of England. I feel Tarver would take the fight anywhere, but knows he wouldn't get a fair shake in foreign territory. Few fighters ever do. Haye's mandatory defense is on shaky ground since Chagaev has Hepatitis B and isn't permitted to fight in England.
Haye, who says he will retire in October, is looking for a marquee fight, since he dodges the Klitschko's like a crack addict avoids rehab. Haye talks a good game but is quick to back down when it comes down to actual fighting.
@mrdavidhaye David Haye it's Antonio Tarver I hear you got some free time on your hand since you and Wladimir Klitschko had to push back. How about you and I get a date around April you can call it your US debut, it's the biggest fight you can make that name don't end in Klitschko... That's what Tarver sent to Haye via Twitter.
@AntonioTarver Thanks for offer. I've a Mandatory to K.O.(May-June) before I'm free for any Unification/Voluntary. Keep doin ya thang! ;-) ... Was Haye's response.
A unification bout in serious doubt. Hey I'm a poet! Anyways, Haye needs to step up and stop dodging anyone who throws a challenge his way. All talk and no action seems to be Haye's m.o.

Matt Anderson Gets Another Chance
Matt Anderson is getting what amounts to a last chance in the major leagues. The Philadelphia Phillies signed the former Detroit Tigers pitcher to a minor league deal. Which means if he performs well he can pitch in the big show again.
Anderson was the top pick in the 1997 baseball draft out of Rice by the Tigers. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2005 and his last season was in 2008 with Triple-A Charlotte. He has 15 appearances and a 5.60 ERA. He'll need to do much better than that if he wants to stick with the Phillies. His best year was back in 2001 when he posted 22 saves for the Tigers.
Anderson's most famous moments were hitting 103 mph on the radar gun and having his name dropped in a sexual harassment lawsuit in 2001. Good luck Matt, you'll need it since you haven't been the same since injuring your arm in 1999 ( there was a contest at the ballpark to throw an octopus the farthest and win tickets to a Red Wings playoff game - Anderson tossed an octopus and suffered an injury from which he never seemed to recover).
